Recently I interviewed Brad Hollister, CEO and Co-Founder of SwanLeap. SwanLeap, which was founded by Brad Hollister and Jason Swanson in 2013, entered the market with what Deloitte has identified as NextGeneration technology. Through their rapidly deployed, customer implementation of NextGen Transportation Management (TMS) software solution, and auditing services, SwanLeap is using artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning to automate many of the manual roles in a company’s supply chain. These efforts are eliminating errors, increasing efficiencies, and improving customer relationships for businesses across the country. Brad says, “Our company provides the infrastructure to help people ship things. What we do different than our competitors is we have rewired and changed the expectations of what the performance of technology can do.” SwanLeap, the fastest-growing private company in America, was ranked number one on the 2018 Inc. 5000 list of America’s fastest-growing private companies, with three-year growth of 75,661%.
SwanLeap focuses on solving their clients’ real-life problems. Brad describes the company’s approach as follows: “Our secret sauce has been to listen to the customer’s problems and then provide them a solution for the problem. Many people say build a product, find a customer, and if the customer doesn’t match that product then find new customers. We’ve done it the opposite way. We’ve taken this to the point where we make sure that our solution works for every customer. Some of that involves customization but, in the end, our customers have been the ones who have built the solution. Who better to tell you what the solution needs? If you think about it, am I more qualified to make a solution for my customer or is my customer more qualified? I think we know the answer. So we’ve taken that approach, and that’s not a common one in business today.”
Do one thing: What can you do to be hyper-focused on your customers? Like SwanLeap, gather customer feedback and act on it. Listen to your customer’s problems and provide them with a solution. Be customer obsessed and provide personalized experiences, quality products, and friendly responsive service.
